Methow Valley Lavender
Methow Valley Lavender is a family-owned lavender farm in eastern Washington, run by husband and wife team Mark and Monica. Their passion for lavender grew naturally, with even Monica’s daughter jokingly pointing out just how many lavender products were all throughout their home. What started as a personal love turned into a family effort, with all generations pitching in — Monica’s brother, her parents, her grandmother, and even her children all contribute to making the farm a success. They decided to create an online presence to share their products with a wider audience. They needed a professional, functional e-commerce website to showcase their offerings and support their business growth.
The family came to us through a client referral, as Monica’s brother was already one of our clients. They trusted us to design a customized online shop with all the features their business needed to thrive. This website became a key part of their business plan, giving them a solid platform to launch their brand.

Project Brief
Bird’s Eye View
Before working with us, Methow Valley Lavender relied on social media to grow their business. They were also part of a small business cohort, which helped them realize the importance of having a strong online presence. They had a beautifully designed logo and customized branding elements, which gave us a solid starting point.
Ruffled Feathers: Methow Valley’s Pain Points
Methow Valley Lavender’s original website had several issues that held the business back. It was extremely slow, making it difficult and inconvenient for visitors to navigate. The site wasn’t optimized for search engines, which limited its ability to attract new customers. It also lacked e-commerce functionality, preventing them from selling their products online.
Most importantly, the website didn’t reflect their story or the unique charm of their family-run lavender farm. These limitations made it clear they needed a complete makeover to meet their business goals and effectively connect with their audience.
Our Flight Plan
Our focus was creating a website that would meet Methow Valley Lavender’s needs and highlight what makes their business special. A key goal was to add e-commerce so they could sell their lavender products online. With Monica’s love and flair for writing, we also felt a blog was important for sharing stories about life on the farm, like planting lavender and running a family business, as well as providing recipes and ways to use their culinary lavender, a unique feature of their products.
Feathers In Our Cap: Top Accomplishments
We designed a beautiful website that is simple to use and easy to navigate.
Visitors can quickly find what they need, whether they want to shop, read stories about the farm, or contact the team. Everything is clearly organized, making the site inviting and efficient. This design ensures that customers can explore the farm’s offerings without confusion, creating a smooth and enjoyable experience.
We worked closely with Monica throughout the process to ensure the website captured the essence of their farm. By using their existing branding as a foundation and collaborating with Monica to understand her vision, we designed a website that was exactly what they needed. Every detail, from the layout and structure to the features and images, reflected the unique personality of the farm.

We enabled e-commerce both on and off the site.
We added a powerful e-commerce platform (WooCommerce) that works for both online and in-person sales. The site now includes customer reviews and options for physical and digital gift cards, which have been a big hit. To support sales at farmers’ markets, we also set up Methow Valley Lavender with a device that syncs in-person sales with their online inventory. This has made managing their products simple and efficient, helping them grow their business across multiple channels.
Speed and functionality were very important since their old site was slow and frustrating to use. Plus, we wanted the new website to connect easily with their social media and become a central part of their online presence. Most importantly, we wanted a website that would be simple and easy for Monica to manage on her own.
We incorporated a fun and informative blog.
We designed a blog that lets Monica share both stories about life on the farm and recipes using their culinary lavender. The blog is easy to manage, with separate templates for stories and recipes to keep everything organized. As a talented writer, Monica now has a platform to share her creativity and connect with her audience, adding a personal touch to the website.

“Andi and her team built a beautiful, professional website for our small business. We love how it turned out, and we get compliments on it all the time. Andi has been instrumental in helping us launch our business from giving us recommendations for suppliers, to setting templates up in MailChimp and Canva, to making video tutorials so that we can add new products and blogs to our website ourselves. She’s highly skilled, and she cares about us and our business. We cannot thank Andi and Hummingbird Marketing Services enough.”
